ai in next 5 years
AI is a technological matter who's been recently on everyone's mouth. From startups to enterprises, the need for automation within this very specific technological field has also been impacting a variety of developers, mainly within small teams. When analysing a specific industry, in fact, by analysing its endeavours within smaller scales, it will be possible to paint its future. With this being said, let's analyse why AI will be a matter dominated by startups in the nearest future.

Automated AI
Artificial intelligence is a technological matter which applies to a variety of other sectors and technologies. Machine Learning is, in fact probably the biggest one, as many artificial bits of intelligence have been focusing around automated features, both in terms of data gathering and processing. A bright example of this statement would definitely be TESLA's new autopilot, which, by combining SLAM (Simultaneous Localization And Mapping) to a solid artificial intelligence situated in the head of the car, is one of the most advanced automated AI available within the consumer's market. TESLA's autopilot revolves a lot around Pony.ai, an artificial intelligence startup who was able to raise over $350 million within his first year.

Mobile Applications
The mobile world has drastically changed since its early stages. Being 56% of the entire internet's traffic, it's quite easy to understand why a lot of development teams have approached different pieces of technology. AI is definitely still at a very embryonic stage for what concerns mobile applications, but it's moving fast and this is something which should be monitored to better understand if this is going to be a so-called "tech bubble" or something solid which is going to remain. For now, a tangible part of startups who are applying AI to mobile is related to cryptocurrencies, which are still generating a lot of hype in today's technological and business world.

The Future
It's quite hard to picture the future of AI startups in the long run but, if there's one thing which could be stated, that would definitely be related to the implementation of complex artificial intelligence architectures within consumers-friendly realms. It's important, therefore, to monitor the startups who are receiving big waves of investments in order to understand the foundations of this very matter, before "it goes mainstream". Many triple A companies such as TESLA (as mentioned above), Amazon and Apple are actively investing in groundbreaking startups which are building next level AI.

The Other Face Of The Medal
AI as a whole, on the other end, heavily relies on what's known as "the hype factor". In fact, many startups who were highly praised by industry analysts have miserably failed in the last couple of years and Forbes has recently dedicated an entire study on the matter. Artificial Intelligence is indeed something which could help certain features within certain business fields but these results must be proven in a commercial environment and they shouldn't be based around "hype".  With this in mind, the implementation of artificial intelligence within a variety of business fields will definitely become a reality in the nearest future.
