Overview
wildcard exclusively work with startups, and they understand the difficulties of building an efficient team in the earlier stages of a tech startup, where attracting the right talent can be very difficult without good traction and fully established product. They have all the necessary skill and experience to take a product from concept to launch – and beyond. Their first role is to bridge that gap, decrease your time to market, without breaking the bank and launch the full-fledged product or MVP.

Product Manager - Reef Digital Pty LtdSecurity findings explained clearly to our non-technical board. Genuinely uncommon.
Three months post-launch our key metrics are all moving in the right direction — user adoption ahead of target, support volume down, time-on-task reduced for our core workflows. The product team has started planning features that were never viable on the previous platform. That is the real proof of the investment: it opened up possibilities rather than just replacing what was there before.

Our content delivery infrastructure worked at current scale but showed clear signs it would not survive the enrolment growth our strategic plan assumed.

VP of Innovation - Laurentian Tech PartnersClear-eyed assessment of where we were, followed by a credible plan forward
We went with a smaller team than we had originally planned for. I had concerns about whether the capacity would be sufficient given our timeline. Those concerns were unfounded. The team was focused, communication was constant, and the quality at each milestone review was consistent throughout. Smaller does not mean slower when the people are the right ones and this engagement proved that.

The business case had been approved but the internal resource to execute it had not materialised. External delivery was the pragmatic solution.

Chief Digital Officer - Southern Cross TechnologyFirst time our board, CTO, and engineering team agreed on the same technology direction
Honestly, I came into this engagement with some scepticism. We had a bad experience with a vendor twelve months earlier and I wanted to see evidence of competence, not just hear about it. The discovery documentation was the first signal. The sprint delivery consistency was the second. By go-live I had stopped being sceptical and started planning how to expand the engagement. The production system has been stable from day one and our internal team loves working with the codebase they left us.

Time-to-market for new tariff products had become a competitive liability. Our product configuration layer was the bottleneck and it had been identified as the priority fix.

VP of Engineering - RedDot Technologies Pte LtdComplex project, zero drama. That is how you know the project management is real.
What I appreciated most was that they were honest when things were not going to plan. There was one point mid-project where a dependency was going to affect our timeline and they told us three weeks before it would have become critical. That gave us time to adjust. Vendors who manage upward proactively are rare. This one did it consistently throughout the engagement.

A failed engagement the previous year had made us more rigorous about vendor selection. We took the time to find a partner we actually trusted before we committed.

Product Director - Lionhead Digital Pte LtdIT partner that understands our business, not just our ticket queue
We handed them an aggressive deadline, a complex scope, and a client-side team that was stretched and not always available when they needed us. They handled that gracefully. They were precise about what they needed and when they needed it. Where they could proceed independently they did. The delivery landed on time in spite of the constraints we added. I regard that as strong evidence of genuine professional maturity — not just capability.

Our actuarial models had outgrown the reporting infrastructure feeding them. Data latency was introducing risk into pricing decisions at a rate the business would no longer accept.
